    Ok (BBQ) I only have 40gal now and I am working on a 75 gal. I was reading (rrasco) form on BFS on which RO/DI and i was going to go with the BFS 161 premium series which comes with RO flush valve,TDS3 meter and pressure gauge. But would I need another TDS meter?

    The portable tds meters are neat and dont cost a lot. You can take them anywhere and test the water you drink. From your sink and from the store.
    Well worth the cost for a little portable tds meter.

    rrasco you think I should change the di? Its been awhile
    So the one the kit comes with is not the inline TDS meter if not how many do I need?

    Shane, I guess as long as you have a low TDS coming out of your RODI then no reason to change it. People do change it when it hits 1 though, I don't always, but I try to.

    Ouch, the BFS kit comes with a handheld meter. You can get one of the dual inline meters that are always connected so you can monitor your filters effectiveness, but that's not included. The handheld is portable, the inline is not.

    New is allways better than used with ro/di. membranes can cost. Sometime a membrane can randomly go bad on you. My first system was 50gpd and membrane kept going bad. fyi
    If that happens you cant use the water. Might as well be that tap water with fluoride.

    There are different ones and it's really up to you. I have a dual inline and a handheld.

    Water Source -> Pre-filter -> Carbon -> RO -> TDS #1 -> DI -> TDS #2 -> Purified Water

    The handheld is to check your tap and whatever else you want. You don't 'need' any of these, but they certainly help.

    The portable tds meters are ez. You put some water in a small cup. You put the meter in it and it gives you a reading. Its that ez.You have to push a button. Thats it.
