if you think about it you may find a used one with used filters and it will from 50-100, new filters will run you another 60-75 dollars so in the end buying a brand new one is not much more. i know for sure elegant reef and Aquarium design have them in stock i know ER sells the BRS 4 stage at 169.99 not sure on AD prices so i wont say.

ro/di to get your water down to 0 TDS, you need the di resin to polish it off to 0

Ok thanks to ( Big_Pun) I am looking into buying a BFS RO/DI system but I would like to see what other People have and how many gpd is your system? Also how often do u change you filters and how is it working for you? If u were to change it what would u change and why? Let me know? Thanks!!

i just did and went with a brs 6 stage mostly cause i like not having to dump as much DI, even when the first canister of di is almost done its still pulling some out so the second finishes it off, then i replace the exhusted one and rotate them. so the first one gets new di, second on gets bumped to first position and new one is on the end now( if that makes sense). i monitor pressure levels as it drops i know pre filters are done, i also watch tds coming out membrane when tds goes up i replace it. just make sure you get a kit with pressure gauge and inline dual tds meter. also i can show you how to make your di last longer by purging tds creep.

I like my BFS 4-stage 75 GPD. At 70 PSI I can make about 100 GPD I prefer the BFS DI resin over BRS, seems to last longer for me. BRS resin seemed to change colors the first day I used it. You don't have to start with one, but I'd highly recommend getting a dual inline TDS meter so you can measure after RO and again after DI, so you know what you are getting and when to change your filters. BFS comes with a handheld meter so I use that to check my tap or anything else I may need to, like an ATO reservoir.

    Good questions......

I regret buying used...... Not that it was a bad sell but I had to replace filters and membrane not too long after and by then I could of had a new system..

Also get a inline tds meter or a couple... I have a dual, it reads my incoming and outgoing. I then have a single reading after my membrane to tell me when it's time to change the membrane, but mostly to monitor the tds going into the di resin canister...

I honestly just wished my filter would last longer.... But I like to change them right when it hits 1. I had a cyano bloom when I let it slip passed and will never do that again..

mine was a 100gpd or higher but changed it to a 75 I believe....
