I also loved waiting tables. I worked at a sit down BBQ restaurant that had live music on the weekends. It was great meeting people from all different walks of life and being introduced to Texas country. The freedom was great too. I like jobs with very little if any supervision. I moved up to manager pretty quickly and we also drank for free after the store closed.

Now, as a criminal defense Investigator I enjoy helping people fight the injustice system. It is a great feeling when you keep someone off death row that doesnt belong there or even saving an innocent person from spending 20 yrs in jail. Downside is becoming cynical seeing the repeat offenders and realizing that if the government did their job and were impartial and fair my job would be obsolete.

For me it was the one summer(1992) where I worked at Schlitterbahn Waterpark as a lifeguard. To be a New Braunfels native it's almost a right of passage to have some type of job there growing up. I worked the whole summer there and by the end of summer I had almost permanent tan lines, even tan lines from my Oakley frames.

Best job of anyone I know, love what I do and do what I love. I am a marriage and family therapist and I do contract work serving military families. Most of the year I work locally and once in a great while they send me somewhere interesting. Today I am in Landstuhl, Germany and it's in the 70s here with a beautiful sunset. Can't complain (and yet I do.) Three more weeks and I get to see my sweet husband again. Cons: self employment, so higher taxes, no benefits, and zero job security. Even with that, it's great work if you can get it.

there is a killer schnitzel house straight down road past vogelweh on the left. go there and order the schlammer schnitzel and a hefe

my first 7 years in the AF were the best. i lived in colorado and amsterdam and traveled all over: greece, italy, balkans, middle east, germany, etc. i was one of the first americans in kosovo when the bombs dropped and had a blast there

then i got sent to randolph which is the main reason i seperated

my current gig is pretty sweet too. i get to play with cool networking gear building my network and keeping bad guys out of it

Oh man, I had the bestest job ever. In fact, I had the job when I met most of you. I worked for MetLife, and got to sit at home ALL DAY LONG. Of course all I did was play with my fish tank, and play video games! Not to mention the pay was awesome. I miss it!

hey food keeps people ALIVE! that's a big responsibility.
I don't think it was the lesser responsibility. For me it was the social aspect - I think Allan And Justin might have felt the same.
You become everybody's favorite waitress. And get to know people from so many different walks of life. People who would otherwise never associate with you or vice versa. Lots of invites to parties and events too. Never a boring weekend ever.

But yes it is nice being able to say: Let me get my manager for you! lol
