Unfortunately, our President doesn't believe in finger pointing.

I buy into my father's mantra: "DON'T REELECT ANYONE".
I can do some research - I can research a failed foreign policy, a failed iraq war, a failed afghanistan strategy, a 30% approval rating, a dire economic crisis, etc, etc.

Yep, all this because of the subprime market ;-)

Read my original post - i think you jumped the gun. I said the administration across the board has been a miserable failure and the mccain ticket has been uncapable of providing (for me) any distinction between their policies and that of the Bush administration. if you don't have the fortitude enough to stand up and say that this guy screwed up, whatever party he is in, in my opinion, that doesn't make you a "maverick".

On September 27th, 2008 CBS did a poll and the congress as a whole had an approval rating of only 15%. So I guess you could say Bush is twice as popular as the men that will replace him? Remember Obama just voted with George on the most expensive stupid bill ever! So where is the difference when it comes to spending between the three? If you think Obama will be different you are wrong, he will have the same people pulling his chain as Bush did.

And in fact, when I comes to spending, which candidate talks about increasing government and therefore spending, Obama, and which one consistently states we need to cut spending, McCain.

Add on that Obama's "Universal voluntary public service" plan.

Expand Service-Learning in Our Nation’s Schools: In November, Barack Obama laid out a comprehensiveplan to provide all Americans with a world-class education and give our schools a substantial infusion of funds to support teachers and principals and improve student learning. That plan conditions that assistance on school districts developing programs to engage students in service opportunities. Obama and Biden believe that middle and high school students should be expected to engage in community service for 50 hours annually during the school year or summer months. They will develop national guidelines for service-learning and community service programs, and will give schools better tools both to develop successful programs and to document the experience of students at all levels. They will encourage programs that engage with community partners to expand opportunities for community service and service-learning opportunities, so that students can apply what they learn in the classroom to authentic situations that help the community. These programs will also involve citizens from the community engaging students in service opportunities through the Classroom Corps.

First, I'm missing the "voluntary" part.

Second, now besides, after school band concerts, flute & piano lessons, cross country track and the meets, chess club, play practice, and church volunteering
I'm supposed to gas up and cart my kids for 2 hours of government mandated volunteer work per week?

Third, when did Obama get the idea that he needs to control more of how I raise my children?

This Obama guy makes me nervous.

Lets see, The Community Redevelopment Act was passed in the Carter Adminstration (Not Reagan) and enlarged under the Clinton Adimistration to allow for no down loans, 103% loans, etc. all backed by Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac repackaged to wall street to be sold to investors. No one did anything about it, but at least the R's & McCain pointed it out, but they do not control Congress. Suggest to look at Reps: Frank & Waters & Sen. Dodd all D's when the Regulator was before Congress. It think their answer was Mr. Rains is doing a great job.

Last time I checked Bill Ayers at one time was a domestic terrorist, and its not just a casual connection between the two. Granted Ayers did what he did when Obama was too young to know anything, but the dude still has the same political views. As for OBL family and the Bushs, there is certainly a connection, but the OBL family has had nothing to do with OBL for many years. I believe the Bushs have not been in the Carlyle Group for years. The Bushs family money came from Brown Brothers & Harriman when daddy Prescott was there.

How is that different than what schools are already deciding for kids??? What they wear, hair styles etc. These are no different than what states are expected to do for the federal govt in order to recieve funds they need. If they do not comply they don't get the funds they want. Notice they say they encourage not require community service. These practices have been going on for a looong time in all administartions. Its just another way for the federal govt to strong arm the state into getting what they want passed.

Actually, the wording is EXPECT not encourage.

There is a huge difference between dress codes decided on a local level, and the President of the United States dictating what types of "volunteer" work are worthy "public services" that my child must perform. My children need to dress for school every day, but my children don't need to do be driven around town performing mandated volunteer work prescribed by the federal government.

bill, the sad thing is that even knowing that people are still going to allow him to run our company. its like obamas speeches about "change" and his confidence just get people "drunk" and makes their knees weak but if he gets voted in (and it looks like he could).... there is going to be a lot of people with a bad hang over that doesnt just go away.

As a former School Teacher, I think manditory community service would be great. Maybe it would give the self consumed youth of america the opportunity to gain a perspective other than there self consumed parents point of view. Children of this era are such weak, narrow minded, spoiled brats.
