This discussion can get heated pretty quickly so I will keep my comments short. I will be voting for Obama just because I am more in line with some of his policies (healthcare and the war being the 2 biggest). Having Palin as a a possible President in the futre should something happen to McCain scare me to death. It would be another 8yrs of another Bush-like presidency.

Me too. Add the economy to these two as well.

He wants to socialize, hmm I mean reform healthcare and pull out of Iraq. yeah I agree lets curl up like an armadillo and wait for someone else to attack us.. good strategy..
I challenge anyone voting for Obama to give us a specific example of what he is going to do to change this.. O' I know,, he specifically said he would raise taxes for Big oil companies to take more of their windfall profits,, well congratulations you and I are now paying more taxes on gas because those Big companies are going to pass that tax right on to us..... Genius plan!!!!.. I challenge you to name me one single piece of legislation that he has accomplished to show you he can get things done.. let me save you some time.. he has none, nothing, nada,.. he doenst know if he is Muslim or Christian. had jerimian wright for a pastor for 20 years, has associated with a known terrorist, was the second biggest recipient of earmarks from fanny and freddie that helped us get into our current economic condition.. WOW i think i just talked myself into voting for this guy.......NOT! This guy has one ambition.. to be president, he cares and knows nothing about this country. no before you go telling me all about why McCain would be a bad choice,, I agree. but in this case He is DEFINETLY the lesser of two evils. and since no one is going to change anyone elses mind.. this thread is pointless!

Are you better off now than you were 8 years ago?

There is no separation between Bush and McCain. No distinction in economic or foreign policy, the two primary areas of horrible failure of this administration. This is undeniable.

Well put Texreefer, i firmly agree. As for healthcare, was that not the Clinton backbone when he ran. And did it come to fruition? People do not realize if they tax "corporate America" more, they just send the work force out of the US, then pass that cost on to the American public. Lets keep jobs in America. How can you denounce your heritage, Obama is 1/2 white, denounce your religion, now he says he's Christian, conveniently, denounce your country, the way Michelle Obama has and still have any kind of support. Sounds like a smoother talking snake oil salesman to me.

Take the blinders off people, what kind of "change" is he really promising? Heck even Biden does not agree with a lot of the Obama retoric. McCain / Palin in '08.

Body count. In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago, 221 killed in Iraq.

Sens. Barack Obama & **** Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Gov. Rod Blogojevich, House leader Mike Madigan, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan, Mayor Richard Daley.....our leadership in Illinois.....all Democrats. Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago. Of course they're all blaming each other. Can't blame Republicans, there aren't any!

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country. Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look'em up if you want). Chicago school system one of the worst in country. This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. He's gonna 'fix' Washington politics?

Ever heard of Sharia Law, thats where are headed with Obama....

    Just my .02 cents...

No one here is going to convince someone else on here to vote otherwise.

All I can say is you are voting for a guy who had a prior career as a "community organizer" with Acorn - you know, the folks that have had multiple indictments for voter fraud - then became a state rep that only voted "present", then became a Senator for just 170 days (+/-).

In the ENTIRE time in public office, the "agent of change" never, ever authored a single piece of legislation. He did, however, line up at Fannie Mae's public trough and take more lobby money from them over the last 4 years than ANY other politician. Then he hired the 3 losers that took over $100M from Fannie themselves, and made them his "financial advisors". So much for change.

Now, for those of you who are afraid of Sarah Palin becoming President. Seriously, she has more experience than the guy you are voting for, for President! If JOE BIDEN were running, you might have a point. But, he isn't. But, at least he's only the 3rd most liberal Senator.

And for those thinking only the rich will get pinged in taxes... You just wait. They have over a TRILLION dollars in new spending. Don't you ever wonder why gas is $10 a gallon in Europe? So they can pay for "free" health care...

Like I said, you can't change any minds here...

Adam, we got into this financial situation from a meltdown in the subprime real estate market. Do some research. I'm in the real estate business. Then you'll find out how the subprime market came about, and who is REALLY responsible for it. It's real, real easy to point at the current administration... Unfortunately, our President doesn't believe in finger pointing.

    As Rome would say....ding,ding WOOOOOW!

I was going to post but you BILL hit it on the head...WELL said man!

Just one more thing. Hussien ( thats what I call him ) , gave $27000 a year for over 20 YEARS to his pastor that he has suddenly tried to distance himself with. He claimed " he thought he knew him" , those are his words. Everyone please do some research on his pastor's views and opinion of our country and you will understand what Hussein really believes in.

Sadly our Country may be to far gone ( financially ) for ANYONE to pull us out.
