I know a place that has a dozen small skunk cleaner shrimp coming in Thursday afternoon for $13.99 after your MAAST discount.

I've ordered from SWF twice, and been happy with them. Their add-on costs can make it pretty expensive, so it's probably only worth going through them if you have a pretty big order.

I have also ordered from them and was happy.....but as far as return goes...I had a dead cleaner shrimp and some snails....I did NOT get a refund.....instead I now have store credit, so i have to order through them again in order to "get my money back." And even then I still have to make the $79 dollar live order minimum plus the $20 bucks or so in misc. charges, but normal shipping through anyone else is more than $20 bucks.

Correct, you have to ship DOA items with salt at your expense (not overnight, standard mail is fine).

I think their selection is pretty slim to be honest with you (fish wise), and if you are looking for les expensive cleaners, you wouldn't be saving ordering from them because of the minimum order and other charges, you end up having to spend $100 bucks...so you might as well get those items at LFS. Especially at River City if they are $13 after MAAST discount. Unless of course you are doing a large order....

I too am thinking of getting an order in perhaps sometime this week...just waiting on some questions to be answered....

I've seen fish from there, and to ME they just didn't look as vibrant or something, but maybe it was the water in which I saw them in or maybe it was just me. I was going to order from them at one time though.

Changed my mind about ordering from there...the deals are negated by the limits on quantity and the minimum order requirements...you cant even really do a group order unless nobody wants more than three of anything.

They also state that if the shipping company gets delayed because of weather they don't refund at all and you have to investigate that ahead of time.

Yeah...no thanks. I require customer service.

You could ask your LFS to match prices on a large order. That is a good solution. If not www.liveaquaria.com group order

My question is why would any company be required to refund if the delivery is delayed due to issues with the shipper and or weather. That isnt something that is within their control. Lets say UPS loses your package and it dies, is lost, or a snow storm happens and causes delays. It is not the responsisblity of the business to refund due to the fact that when it left their establishment, it left with the understanding that it would arrive within a certain time frame. If it does not get delivered according to what was aggreed upon shipping, the responsibilty now lies with the shipping company and not with the store. Thats just common sense.

There are tons of unscrupulous vendors that could easily blame it all on shipping or the end user, that's why. Instead of playing the "blame game" they offer a 'guarantee' to try and keep customers. I know that if I received a package with dead corals, I would blame the person I bought it from. Then again, some people do not greet the guy delivering the package and they get left out in the elements, which is no one's fault but the buyer. Common sense tells me that customer retention is #1, no matter how the fish/corals got there.
