You're best bet is to either raise the teeth if that is possible or create an "acrylic skin" using new black acrylic that would be weldon'd to the existing sides but to the height you want. If I weld it I will do it from inside. The teeth can easily come out and I can weld it to the inside of the detachable teeth.
Once back in place it won't be seen at all.
Definitely not doing it from outside.
