Default Algae in Frag tank ,but not in DT

I have 20g with Kessil led and MP 10 that connected to my 240g DT with MH/T5. The DT has no algae, but the 20g has hair and bubble algae. Is it bc of the light or the DT has some good grazers. Very CONFUSING..
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

Could be difference in grazers, light, rock used in the 20g versus the 240g, frags that carried stuff into the 20g but not the 240g, and the fickle chances of fate...every time I have a nutrient peak in my 20 long I have a new strand of algae become dominant before receding even though nothing new has been added to it in months.
    88g L shaped reef
    150g freshwater cichlid

I think it is the grazers in your DT that are making the difference. One section of my sump has bryopsis and hair algae growing in it but my DT is completely clear of any algae. I think the foxface and tomini tang in my DT keep the algae eaten as fast as it grows.

I would agree. I would consider some snails for your frag tank.

Thanks guys. Will adding more grazer. turn light off for couple days at a time, hydrogen peroxide treatment to the 20g and do more frequent WC.
