    Default LED height AWL?

I'm curious, how high are you running your LEDs above the water level? What degree optics and what LEDs are you running? What percentage?

I have 3 black box led panels hung 14" awl on a 6" tank. The two outer panels have 90 degree optics and the center panel has 120 degree. There are no dark spots in the tank with them hung this high and I have each panel at about 65%. My caps have great color and my green tipped leather grows like a weed. Those are placed in the top 3rd of the tank. I have some zoas placed right in the middle that have lost their color when I adjusted the height of the lights to remove all dark spots. The lights were about 7" awl at about 35% light intensity before and the zoas had great color. I'm just not sure if its the led panels or something else going on in the tank.

Yup, atm using a ati true actinic(no par) and a gieseman actinic plus.

Was running 2 ati true actinic before trying the gieseman. Might go back to 2 ati true actinic or 2 gieseman pure actinic

Tony, what interface is that with the spectral graph? It's been a while since I've had an AI light, but for me, the biggest issue always was your settings were numbers rather than a spectrum. Looks frekin' slick.

I have a 15k kessil 150W running 15'' off my surface. That dang thing must be putting out a ton of par because my anemones have been hiding from it and even though kessil rates the spread as only 18'' I'm getting easily 24''. I run the light 12PM-8PM every day.

I have 3 hydra 52 with 80 degree optics and they are 7" off the water and a 27" deep tank. I run them at 70% but have lost a little color so I'm staying there for about a month and see if color comes back strong and if not I'll drop some.

I have 3 hydra52s and have them at 14 awl, I really like the blending I get and subtle shimmer vs being closer. Great color and growth. Highest setting I have is the blues at about 70 and white at 65. Uv I have about 55-60 I'll post a pic tomorrow. What I've found is most people run leds higher than needed. It's more or less wasted electricity

I have 2 hydra 52s @ 8" AWL running at 60% blues and 20% cool whites. So far so good, coral responds well, growth and coloration is pretty good.
