Low Profile Bulkheads?

I'm looking for some low profile SCH80 bulkheads. They must be out there, but I have not been able to find them. I need threaded x threaded so I'm not sure if I can cut standard ones down without messing up the threading. I have some tight bends in this new tank that standard bulkheads may not work.

Was wondering the same...... What's the point of them being so long? Was thinking about hacking but unsure if I would mess them up, which I probably would.

Yeah, I mean I know they need to be about 1" - 1.5" long to allow the fittings to slide/screw in, but anything else is really just wasted space.

Glass-holes has the short standard bulkheads, but I don't think they have sch80 ones

Just put it in a vise and cut it down to the size you need,, Caution: the bulkheads that are threaded all the way through are best for this... the slip bulkheads can only be cut down so far before there is no room left to insert the pipe you are using, you can also avoid cutting by placing a spacer on the inside of the tank just like I did in the very first picture of my tank thread, http://www.maast.org/showthread.php?...ew-Pics2-15-12

Cool thanks I might try... Rather chance messing up a cheap bulkhead to save some room. Than have this tank sticking out as far as it is...

I have cur mine before as well. Straight cut is the key word. I was 2 for 3 when cutting them. Hand cuts with a hack saw produced the best for me.

If you thread the nut on before cutting, it will help clean up the threads after you cut it. Just use a file or knife to clean up the end of the thread.
