how many of these could i get a way with in a 48'' tank, 75gallon. Would i get enough flow to keep sps from just one of these powerheads.

two is better on tanks 4ft plus, you can get dead spots with a couple koralias added. yes it's a great pump but stretching to run a 4 foot tank is a lil much.

I will agree with this as well, However... its a 75. you will get much better performance from one vortech in that 18" wide tank as compared to a 120 gal that is wider...if cost is an issue, i think, because its a 75 you could easily get away with one..... BUT... i agree as I said originally... two is always better

You can never have too much flow imo, i have two MP40's in my 36" 90g plus a tunze pushing 3600gph plus my return 500-600gph. I put my 40's on reefcrest. You can get one to start and just put the SPS near but not right in front of the 40.
I use one on my 5' tank and it works well with the return flow coming from the opposite direction. If you place your rockwork correctly, you can eliminate stagnant areas easy enough.
Home of the baby picasso!
I am also running one on my 5ft tank.. been since june with no ill effects. Going to upgrade my MP10 thats on my nano and run it with it just to see if it improves anything.
OH and I am only running it at about 75%, this thing has some serious power......
