I'm very familiar with barnacles. In Corpus Christi, they grow from pinhead to dime sized in about 6 weeks. They will get up to about 1.5" across, but that will take a while. If someone else wants some, just let me know, I'd be happy to bring them back. The problem is that you might get some unwanted local algae that you might not want. Want oysters too?

    Oysters? What kind of oysters?

Do you know if there's any chance of these little barnacles attaching to something on their own?

    Eatin' oysters.

I would guess, no. As larvae, they attach to the substrate. Then as they grow, it spreads. However, if you can glue them down, as they grow, they should attach on their own, covering the glue.

I finally got the barnacles out of their holding pen and glued to some rubble. There are 27 survivors, out of the original 32. Not bad, better than I expected. Now just to see if they survive the gluing process and thrive, or just survive.
