As does diatomaceous earth. It takes longer but also treats internal parasites like worms he you suspect something.

We usually try to go natural when possible but I heard the diatomaceaus earth carries some risk like corneal abrasions and inhalation, etc. and because of that is no longer recommended.

Took his bandage off today to do some hydro therapy. It already looks a bit less swollen and the tissue looks nice and pink=healthy!!

    Update!

This dog is AWESOME!!! I had my reservations because of his three legged status (I know, shallow Al), but this guy gets around and plays is one big little teddy bear.

They keep going back and forth on his name, Leggo --> Limpy --> Tripod --> Trips (and in triple legs or something)... but I think the apt name for him would be Bobber on the account that his head does some serious bobbing when he walk/runs. He's really personal and enjoys interaction with humans, mewls when he has a toy in his mouth but he hasn't learned to play yet.

When I pick up the ball to play fetch he gets up and looks at me expectantly, but when I throw the ball to him (gently of course) it bounces off the top of his head and he gives me a quaint little look like "WTH was that for???"

Erik is a pretty cool little dude. He volunteered to take the dog after his recovery without even seeing him. You got a salute from me brother, very nice thing. But in the long run I can't help but to feel a bit sorry that this little guy will be leaving us.

Ha! My five year old lab still does that.
She must think I'm so rude, throwing her things around the yard and expecting her to go after them like some sort of animal.
