Boiling won't be necessary IMO if all that's left are a few bits of desiccated flesh.
Take a sharp knife and remove the remaining jerky.
Yes even the ants were laughing at me. They crawled on it and decided it wasn't worth the trouble. It's just mummified skin. The meat part has long been eaten by bugs in the pasture.
