    Default My Anemone Imploded

My green BTA seems to have split or imploded in to 20 or so pieces. It almost look like it got chopped up by a propeller. Now I have all these little chunks of anemone every where. The anemome was around 5-6" when fully open. Now my clownfish look lonely at night.

It has been really healthy and I feed it every week and half to two weeks with krill. Has any one seen anything like this before?

thats what I was thinking at first but I doubt a 5" anemone would get sucked up in one my power heads. The inlets are super small slits.

I would take the pieces of anemone out. I would think they are dead. Is there any crabs or shrimps of some kind that could have done this? Are they all over the tank floating around?

i had a 15"+ H. magnifica anemone go thru the small slits on a seio intake and nuke my whole tank once. once they start getting sucked in, they have no resistance and can get ground up pretty quickly.

You need to do a couple water changes and run some carbon if you have not do so already.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

Wow thats what happened then. All my powerheads are seio. Suprised that an anemone could get suck into one of those small intakes.
