I usually start random conversations with the other patients in the waiting room.
The other day I went in with Gloria to the back pain management office. When I returned to the front wait area while she got her shot one of the other patients asked me how I felt.
"I feel pretty good now."
She turned to her husband and patted his knee and told him "See honey, everything will be just fine" She turned back to me and said "You walked out all tall and straight, they must be pretty good here".
"Yeah, the doctor is real easy to talk to and I got to tell you I feel terrific."
"Oh sweetie (she was an older woman) that is so good to hear. I'm happy that you're feeling better."
"Me too Ma'am"
About this time the nurse came in and said my wife was done. I got up and helped Gloria across the waiting room, very drowsy and apparently out of it from the meds. I winked at the old couple who was staring at me with their jaws in their laps.
About six months ago I also had a conversation with a woman while waiting who I led to believe that I was there for a consult to see a doctor about a transgender operations. It was very difficult to keep that one going as I kept throwing up a little in my mouth.

I hate when they make your appointment at 2pm and don't call you in until 3pm just to bring you in to sit at another smaller waiting room for another 30 minutes to an hour! Shoot....should have just made my appointment at 3pm then!!! Oh and forget about it if you show up late because you know they won't see you for an hour later....then it takes like 2 hours or more!
I had my laptop with me today and really didn't notice the time...best idea ever...lol
I usually go in with a small arsenal of things to keep me entertained. Especially, the Texas Med Clinic. I don't think I've been out of there faster than 3 hours.
