somehow i don't see the distinction between the two. you contradict me by validating my understanding of what you meant? you said the same thing i said. i think it is that you are misusing the word 'system'. to me that is the tanks, water, equipment, etc. not the livestock. so i understood what you meant, i was just noting the deficiency.

as for the diver's den system, they have 3000g for available fish, 2000g for quarantine, and 1500g for acclimation/conditioning. thats more than 6000g.

    as for this...

unneccessary. i have never claimed one store to be above another, and i have never 'sang praises' for any store. unfortunately none in cc meet the standard. and this 'sponor' you speak of will be the first to tell you that i call them out on any issue i notice every chance i get. and for the record i did like your shop, and i do tell people about it all the time, but i personally do not feel comfortable there and i choose to go elsewhere. not a conflict by any means.

Regardless, I will address your concern as it brings up a chance for me to clarify a few things:
Please feel free to address mine. As i have no stake sponsor wise or as a BOD.

You made a statement and then back peddled here...

While our total system may be less (at least for now… we have a massive 12ft raceway tank that can be brought online at any time as well), in my many conversions with Ray and company at Liveaquaria, their system in much less than 6000gal for diver’s den fish (unless they’ve added more in the last couple weeks) and that much of this water is held in large sumps (therefore no fish in the majority of the water).
I'll just say be careful in your claims. Period.

Dude, they are just trying to make a huge difference....better than anything in this part of the country...if you dont believe it, come see yourself!

Aggman, I have no idea where this comment came from...."unfortunately none in cc meet the standard"...what in the world is your standard????????

I believe that GC Reef by leaps and bounds, even AM, have a great standard as far as LFS are concerned, I would be curious as to what your standard is?

And, this will be my only comment on this mess, as I want to stay out of "arguments," but man, if you saw what they were doing, understood the mission behind GC Reef, understood the talent amongst the partners as far as business success, passion in this hobby, PhD focused on this hobby, expertise in this hobby, and on the track to accomplish their goals, then you would probably silence the argument. At the end of everything, money limits expansion, therefore, GC Reef has no limits IMHO.

Geez, I was in there today and they were setting up huge systems, had a pair of crosshatch triggerfish, have two full SPS systems going online, had freshly hatched baby seahorses, onyx clowns, banghaii cardinals, they are giving away free locally collected specimens and have a world class selection on corals and fish, what is the standard? I believe they are setting a world-class standard...just my opinion.

    Ok.....

I don't why so many threads on this website have so much drama, people have a lot of free time I guess.....

So, maybe I shoud just end with this...

We'll have LOTS of fish available that are fully quarantined, pest and disease free that are of the highest quality at great prices! Is that vague enough for everyone????

Like Michael said, come see for yourself if you have questions! we'll be glad to give you a tour.

I don't have the time or interest to argue with people on the internet. As a marine biologist one of my goals (aside from my research) is to improve the hobby and reduce the effect it has on natural reefs!!! That's all I'm trying to do here folks!

    geesh!

Amen brother, GC Reef is raising the bar baby!!!! Woo hoo!

Ok, that was really promotional and biased, but accurate! I guess I am fully able to say that on the GCR boards!

Thread dead, tours and field trips to GCR now available!

sorry about this. i was referring to putting one store above another. thats what that part was about. by itself it sounds harsh. but in context with the complete statement i was saying that no store is above another to the point that i would 'sing their praises', at least not in my opinion.

come on mike you know me, we have spoken at length about the stores in corpus and you know where i stand. this shouldn't even be an issue.

The thread is about GCReef and not about a member who has changed his mind. I will ask you to please keep your comments to yourself on that matter. If you have something constructive to add to the thread please do - personal attacks on members will not be permitted.
