I seriously doubt that she (our treasurer) would be one to misunderstand anything of this sort. She is very dedicated to her position here on the BOD. Here is her response to your Update Request..
I assure you and all the members here at MAAST that all is good in MAAST tax land and with the State. As far as the NP status...our CPA, the BOD's, myself included... AND the IRS are still in the "determining" stages as to whether we (MAAST) fit into one of two different catagories. 501(c) (3) or 501(c) (7) Each and everytime there is an additional imformation request (on file), there is an answer - one that is discussed and decided amongst the BOD and answered by our CPA. It does apparently take time for this type of submission to be approved by the Government.
In other words: We have not been approved for a 501 (c)(3) nor a 501 (c)(7) and are awaiting a response from the gov. She will update on this just as soon as we receive an answer.
We the BOD are just as anxious as yourself and many other members here on MAAST. But, again the process of getting accepted for NP does take time, effort & dedication to follow through with. I assure you, we are working our hardest to obtain a NP status and hope to have an answer for you in the near future.
