Kevin, they knew you were not home, and they knew you had Ares, but were willing to take a chance anyway. I would assume that most burglars would avoid places that had a dog, especially a dog the size of Ares. It makes the idea that either they know you, or are from your neighborhood.

he doesnt like any of them from either side, but my mom thinks it was some of the guys on the rigth side who got some friends to do it.
    who knows, only Ares.

My mom has always said if they are willing to break into a house they are willing to kill so that they dont get caugth.

Excuse the language, but screw them for ruining you and your Mom's sense of comfort. It angers me that this is always happening. My truck was broken into a few weeks ago right outside my bedroom window. It drives me crazy even thinking about it. I hope I never have to deal with what you are going through. To have someone violate you, by not only entering your home to steal things that obviously don't belong to them, but to beat your dog for trying to protect your home is complete B.S. Every dog has it's day. Bones will break.

At times I am glad I live in this little town called Abilene. My wife hates it and wants to go back to SA. I left my garage door open last night. Didn't know it til she got up this morning at 7. The garage is connected to the house so anyone could have walked right in. I did it once before in the morning when I went to work. Came home for lunch about 5 hours later and it was open. Didn't miss a thing. I do have a 60 pound lab/golden retriever mix who is in the house all day and who barks at anyone in the yard. So who knows if she stopped anyone during the day.

    Kevin,
I just read what happened and am so sorry. You know how I feel about your dog. Also I used to be a property adjuster for 15 yrs so if you need any advice on your claim, let's talk. It makes me sick thinking of your boxer suffering like that!!

    Hi Kevin,

I am so sorry that this happened to you. Working for the hospital I have always been against guns. I have seen so many kids get shot while playing with mom & dads gun. Also, a good percentage of our donor organs use to come from gun shot accidents (all organs come with a report/story on the cause of death) but within the last couple of months I have not complained about my husband having guns in the house (one to many if you ask me). Times are hard and it’s getting ruff!! My kickboxing skills are a thing of the past…

I can believe they hurt your dog!!! If I can help in anyway please don't hesitate to call me.............
Honey he is so cute can I have him..... I promise he won't eat the other fish in MY tank!!

so on an other good note,
turns out the homeowners insurance is for damage and not for THEIFT.
So in other words I wont get a penny back for any of the stuff taken.

Oh and Ares is back to normal, barking at people in the allie, jumping fences, you know dog stuff.
His swelling is almost completly gone, but you can still see some bruses, and I know they hurt him, but he aint letting them phase him.
I took him for a walk this night and he did good, he didnt try to attack anyone.
Tomarrow i'll be taking him into the appartments, and we'll see how that goes.

Nothing has come up at the pawn shops around here nor on CL.
So im thinking whom ever took the stuff is using it.
