Another idea would be the cause of death and bodily appearance aren't related. The bones being perfectly intact suggest some type of crab was picking him clean after his untimely death. Regardless, it's definitely worthy of winning a POTM!

now that is what i think could have been the only explanation to what happend. a crab cought him and started to pick on him. the only problem is that i do have plenty of crabs and one of a decent quarter size but the size of the crabs would probably still be too small for being able to get a hold of the fish (the fish was too big for the crab). but this could have been the only explanation, but who knows?

man something similar happened to my citron goby las night...but it was a new powerhead i had jus placed in the tank...les jus say i have a guard on it now....

yeah keep it on there,cause although i really don't know what happen to the fish, the only logical explanation is that it somehow reversed into the powerhead (koralia 4), and caused him his body then death..

eventhough it was just a damsel, that fish had been with me for 2 yrs +, and it was very colorful, but may he R.I.P.

You could have a crab or a mantis shrimp and don't know it. Its happened to me before, in my forty gallon I had a gorilla crab and no fish went to sleep near his rock, and all the new fish I put in died because of him. In a new tank I bought live rock and I received a free mantis shrimp in my rock, woke up one day to see four fish dead and to see a mantis shrimp running around. Hope you find out what did it.

This guy cost me a bunch of money. I had only seen him once two years before and he was very small and I never saw him again. After my Purple Tang and Blue spot jawfish disappeared I tore my tank apart, found him and took him out. When you have a 200+ tank with 200 pounds of live rock, you would be surprised what your tank can hold without your knowledge.

lol....yeah know what you mean. at times stuff comes out and its weird, how many things are in there that u don't even know... but wow that was a huge crab

well yeah that could be possible, but hopefully i don't, although i havent seen or heard anything mysteriously.....
