if you are insistent about protecting yourself i would just use firefox and lock it down with addons instead of a full blown av. adblock and noscript will probly serve you well.

^No av for me, firefox with adblock and noscript plus my email is web-based (gmail) and they do scanning on attachments for the folks I forward/send to.

I think I will stick with firefox and adblock. I don't need another program slowing the computer down, especially when it's really not necessary.
