    Default Question needs an answer....

    Scenario:
You purchase $250 in Zoas, to get free shipping, say from a sponsor. On arrival they don't look so good and within a week they all melt on you.

Question 1: Does the seller have a obligation/do you expect to have a store credit or replacement given?

Question 2: Would you expect the same obligation from a private seller? Particularly if they sold the item in some volume.

Question 3: If you feel a "brick and mortar" has a obligation to replace/credit an item but a private seller is exempt why?

    A single answer...

What were the terms when going into the sale? Buyer beware.

I think at some point you say enough is enough and throw the credit in the thrash no matter where you get it from. How long would you give someone a chance with any poor product. Whether it be coral, cars, construction companies, service companies...etc. It does not matter the situation. Sometimes enough is enough. If it is a few corals, in this case, then sometimes bad things happen. If it is ALL corals in a shipment, then I would say enough is enough and take my business elsewhere.

Each scenerio is different. MOST brick and mortars do NOT offer guarantees.

Indeed, most do not. So as you said it's up to the consumer to say "enough is enough."

    I agree buyer beware.
That is why I will not purchase anything from anyone for anything over and above a fair price no matter what it is. I believe in trading or barter. Too much to loose when it comes to coral if you pay too much. seems to me I feel 2.50 a polyp is my fair range IMO I know some of you will disagree but that is OK. I would rather purchase from a B&M for anything higher priced unless a replacement is agreed on with the conditions that my perimeters are in check. that would be for both a private seller or B&M.

You are out $250. End of terms. I wish I could have your attitude. Most here do not. Visit the group buy threads if there is doubt.

It is a good idea to know how much a specimin normally sells for or have a set budget for your shopping excursion.

    OT but...

I wish there was more good-ole trading going on here in MAAST. I would love to trade with some people. It seems as if when I post a trade, I don't recieve many responses.

Remember that just because it is a B&M, they can have bad water/corals/etc... and with most B&M not offering any explicit warranty, you can still end up in the same senerio.

I am more inclined to purchase where my business is appreciated and the sales person takes a few minutes to get to know me.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be PO'ed if I was intentionally shafted. Otherwise, I know my risk when buying livestock.

Yes Chris very true I don't or wont mention my LFS of choice but Gabe and Jason knows who it is LOL, you frequent a place you will be taken care of at one time or another. The one thing is not to expect it everytime.

Please explain the above. Did you just say you do NOT expect do be taken care of "everytime" you frequent a business?
