Jeffco: The skimmer sits inside the sump, with a submersible pump that feeds the water, combining it with air from a hose that sticks out of the water. I try and keep the air hose clean by rinsing it with warm freshwater, but only when I feel it needs it. Oddly enough I did clean that hose this week, Monday night!


Based on the feedback on this forum and Reef-Central it seems that it might help to disassemble and clean the skimmer/pump. How often does everyone else need to clean their skimmers like that?
