Well when the skimmer went crazy, it overlowed my 1 gallon container and went all over my floor in my living room. And to make it worse as it was spilling everywhere in my living room, my auto top off was just giving it more water to let it keep going!!!!!

Honestly, you may want to take the overflow tube off and just let it overflow in your sump. It's better than having smelly water all over your floor, and better than letting your ATO drop your salinity. My .02
