HELP...Drilling Glass Tank

I have been cyling my tank for the past 4weeks now and well to make a long story short i ran into a problem.... and i need someone that can drill a/some hole(s) on a 20gal tank (my refuge) since i have a pump in it and drainnig it into the sump i thought well what if the pumps dies... i guess i will end up with 10+gallons of water on my floor... so decided to drill it and let it empty out with gravity..

if so how long does it take and for $$........ please LMK thanks RICKY

Hobogato drills holes, he drilled my 60 gallon cube. Does not take long at all, but I don't remember the cost, you'll have to get with him. Relatively inexpensive.

i'd be afraid of breaking the glass...... i will be going for 2 days to san antonio for the frag swap.

You don't have to drill the tank just drill a hole in the return line. What that will do is let air in the line once power has died, causing the siphon to brake. Drill the hole high up so that way it won't drain that far down.

oh no no no.... see i have a 210gal drilled already under it is a 30-40gal sump that has the skimmer/return section...

and seperately i have a 20gal being used as my refuge,,, i have a t-adapter from one of my drains and dumps in the this tank (regulated with a ball valve) where inside i have a small pump that gets the water from the refuge and dumps it over to the skimmer section..... now what happens if the pump in the fuge fails.......then all the water will continue to drain into the refuge until there isn't any water from the main tank to go over the overflow

You could use an overflow - but drilling is really the way to go.
