I would prefer not to say where we got it from, as we are looking to solve the problem.

And I do not believe it was necessarily the seller's fault that we are experiencing the problem.

It's important that everyone knows that these colonies are found in very shallow water, and in high surge zones. We have been very successful keeping them open and thriving by providing them with high flow, and moderate lighting. Definitely the high flow is the key to these gems, so please take care of them appropriately and pass this message onto your customers.

Cool...that makes me feel better that I am on the right track on getting them back to health...

These sound like great topics for the vendor feedback forum or general discussion; but since this is an emergency forum, can we stay on topic?

    Clamgal,

I just now saw this thread were these mine? Mine were sold on LR pieces. NOT Plugs.

Actually, yeah they never opened up. I'm thinking maybe I did something wrong.

It looks like a lot of people are having problems with keeping healthy African zoas such as Blue Hornets, Purple Hornets...AOI etc. I have blue hornets and AOI...both took about a week to open up when I got them. They are doing great now but there should be disclaimers about these types of zoas when they are purchased because they require different care.

They literally like HIGH flow and do best in moderate to low light, the light must be direct though. I'm keeping them healthy in two seperate tanks, one with PC bulbs and the other with T5. I have random direct flow on both small colonies.

    Hope this helps.
