Thread: Laying Tile

I would also look at the local habitat stores around town. I just did my master bath and closet that total just shy of 500 sq ft for much less then I thought it would cost. My wife and I found the tile we wanted at 3 local stores with a price of 1.95 to 3.75 all for the same exact stuff. I went with friend to the habitat store in Austin and found the same exact tile there that we were about to order from the local stores for only .77 cents. it was a 13"x13" tile and they had the mud mix for $10 a bag needed 4 got the grout 2 bags think was also $10 and took the one hour Saturday class at home depot saved a ton of $ by doing the work myself with the help of one friend that also had access to a tile saw I was allowed to borrow. All and all it took 4 hours to cut and lay out all the tile, 2 hours to actual mud it down, 2 hours ish to grout it in, then came back 2 days later to put several coats of sealer down. If you have the time and a good back I would defiantly say tile is the way to go and a good DIY project for a home improvement.

I'm trying to convince my wife into letting me tear up the carpet wish she loves because it's so warm, but maybe I can talk her into letting me cut a window out of the all for a wall aquarium. Then you can help me with the room Steve!!!

Here is an idea, act like you were moving the furniture around, and that you "accidentally" knocked a piece of furniture through the wall right where you wanted to do the in-wall tank.
Then, you might as well just do it since the wall already has a hole in it
