nope. when it stuck in third gear, i tapped the shift pin lightly with a hammer - apparently a no-no on this motorcycle. that is how it came out of place. it was actually pretty tough to move back into place, so the keeper is still strong.

im just not sure why it was stuck in 3rd gear..... it is shifting fine now.
