I used to work RR tech support w/TWC when I first moved to SA. It was amazing the BS they would have us relay to customers on different issues. I remember when I was there, the big deal was why we didn't have Starz in HD. Team leads told us to tell customers that Starz didn't offer HD, which anyone w/a satellite system could tell you was complete BS. They're (TWC) the 400lb gorilla in Texas right now, but they better watch their backs for their competitors.

I meant they still don't carry the nfl network (cowboys game). Last year there was a battle in the media about who was to blame.

This is not correct. The contract normally negotiated is for the payment of the cable company by the network. Opening up additional viewing areas, allows a network more sponsorship money.

Ugh... I hate Time Warner and I hate AT&T too for the way they treat their customers. So sad that Grande Communications has not set up services in the neighborhood we live in now. They were so great to deal with.

My "Time Warner is evil" story:
When we had Time Warner a sales guy who knew my sister-in-law accessed our account through our home phone number and charged us a bunch of fraudulent charges for Cinemax and some equipment to make his sales numbers look better. When I saw the bill and it was much higher than I expected I called to sort out what I assumed was just a "mistake". The management handled it SO poorly, accusing us of owing them hundreds of $$$ for equipment the guy said we were renting and now could not return (because it never happened), not apologizing about their sales person's fraud. I was furious over the way it was handled. Obviously we left the company over it. The sales guy did not even lose his job!

I have Dish as well and it is great. Some people don't get Dishnetwork because they are worried about losing signal in bad weather. I have only lost my signal twice in the last two years. Great customer service and we have the NFL network and all local channels. They are always adding new HD channels and my bill does not go up.

Same here, only lost signal a couple of times as well. OH and the HD channels rock. Ive had it now for 2 years and its fun to turn on the TV and find a new HD channel.

My only problem with satellite is that we have 8 tvs, 3 of which are HD. And, this won't work or won't be competitive with cable.

For the people who have satellite. Who do you use for internet access? I would be likely to change cable providers if I had access to a decent broadband connection.
