Actually, RSM stock lighting is PCs, technically they're T5s because they're folded over 5/8" bulbs, but lacking the individual reflectors of T5s which is what increases their efficiency so much. The new RSM 55 gallon tank uses actual T5s, rather than PCs.

If you only have the LR and it's covered in algae start doing small daily water changes and make the rock completely dark. Drape a comforter or something over the tank to black it out. The bacteria (what we really want from the LR) won't be effected at all. You may even still grow out copepods. Blocking the light will kill the algae and doing daily water changes will remove the waste from the dying algae helping to prevent recurring outbreaks.

can i water from my old tank and place it in my new one, or half old and half new? what would be a good clean up crew for a RSM?

My brother-in-law just purchased one a few weeks ago and he loves it. We spent the weekend performing mods to it. I love the sleek look of it.

    Good buy in my opinion.
