Thanks for the reply John, just glad you all are taking care of it and communicating that to us.

No problem Rob. Remember I am a paying member as well and just as frustrated as everyone else with it.
we will see what we can find out and go from there.

I've also sent Cartama a note - I've noticed it too. The folks that run Cartama are locals. They host MAAST along with a bunch of other vBulletin forums. They are very good at it, and the price is impossible to beat. However, unless we TELL them that we have issues, it's likely that they don't necessarily know they exist. Cartama bailed MAAST out a few years ago, and I think it's important that we continue to return that favor.

If we have a web hoster that hooked us up at some point then we should probably stick with them.

I work in the web hosting industry, in a technical position, for one of the largest hosting providers on the internet. I've advised some rather large corporations. Please let me know if I can provide advice or be of any assistance.

Sorry for being blunt, but technically speaking, I don't care if someone hooked me up with hosting or not, if they can't handle the site...I'm moving on to something that can. I also work in the industry, and if they really are good at what they do, with this much down time, they would already know. If it were one of my sites I'd be getting a credit for the down time and/or finding a new host. Just my $.02

I have noticed MAAST runs a whole heck of a lot faster in Chrome than in Firefox or IE. I know it has nothing to do with the hosting company, but I quit using FireFox because of it. Never thought I would stop using a browser for the sake of reading my fishy forums.

I am just glad its not just me. I have been wondering what in the world was going on. I can only remember a couple of times since i've joined way back when that the site had these problems, and it was usually fixed fast.

Thanks Kristy and John for working on getting this resolved.

I don't necessarily disagree, just a little loyalty. We're not running a for profit storefront here. However, as a paying customer (assuming we're paying) we are entiled to decent hosting. I also don't know all the particulars of the situation. Maybe they let MAAST slide on a payment, maybe they cured a disease, who knows...

Another point is that's it CAN be a difficult process to change hosting providers. Replicating an environemt and moving all the content and databases, with little to no downtime.

Yeah, I don't know any of the particulars, just throwing my useless opinion out there.

Forums like this are not hard to move though, the only downtime should occur during the DNS change. Copy db to new server, move files, update settings in db or config file to use new database and server paths...then point DNS to new server. Easy as pie.

Either way...I hope they figure out what the deal is. Sucks when there is no MAAST.
