i used to service aquariums professionally, and i had serviced one tank for the better part of a year before i discovered their abalone, and it was about as big as a nerf football, and had come in as a hitchhiker on the live rock. They hide real well, as you have discovered. sea hares too, i had introduced one into a 60 gallon cube, and had presumed it dead after 3 months. 4 months later, i was gravel vac'ing when the tube filled with dark purple water, i stopped to investigate, and there was the sea hare stuck in my gravel vac, inking and angry, let him go, and didn't see him again for 2 months. It's truly amazing the camouflage some creatures have.

Lol yea it def is amazing how they naturaly disguise themselves and do what they do best in the wild only in captive tanks. I can only hope that the sea hare is still somewhere in my reef

on the briopsis, have you tried the peroxide thing? my dad had pretty bad briopsis and he started squirting peroxide on it in the tank with a medicine syringe and it is almost gone now in less than a month.

I dosed double the algae fix even triple sometimes what is recommended( do this slowly to see effects on your livestock) I had no I'll side effects to my livestock. you use the tech m to raise your mag to about 1600 and hold it there till you see bryopsis die. after a week of dosing I would get a tooth brush and scrub heavy problem areas and the stuff just comes off, and collected in my filter sock. any questions pm or call me james. be ready it takes a lot of tech m and it's a lil pricey, and remember test through out the treatment so nothing gets away from you.

Tech m is the way to go for getting rid of bryopsis. However, I had no success with algae fix - I think it sucks but just my opinion. Chris is totally right on scrubbing as well. You have to keep on this, pretty much daily until it's gone......or it will be a nightmare.
