How did you find Maast and when?

I was looking for a small tank (freshwater) to put in my daughter's room on Craigslist. Eric (Scorpino) had a tank for sale that I bought and offered a scratched to hell 12 gallon tank as well for an extra $5 or so,(I sold it for $30 ). While I was admiring his main tank, he was telling me about MAAST. I looked into it and have been a member ever since. Just in case I never mentioned it Eric, "Thanks". Without that chance meeting, I would have never met this fantastic, diverse group of people. There have been many times when I have purchased or sold an item to a member and made a good friend that I would have never met otherwise. Honestly, after meeting someone from this group for the first time, I mention to my wife that if I saw any of you on the street, I would have never known we would have so much in common, and I am sure the feeling was mutual. I appreciate the kindness and dedication to this hobby/lifestyle as well as to each other.

Eriks a great guy. Im not sure how many times hes offered me frags and I have yet to actually make it to his place.

Obviously I kid....I really can't remember how I came across Maast but I've enjoyed my time here. Over the past 13 or so years I've seen a lot of people come and go and have got to meet many great folks.

Gary Powell talked me into going to a meeting at someones home which was close to 46 and 281. I got to see how metal halide made frogspawn look so much better than CFLs. Then Gary dragged me to a meeting at Felipes and i joined

I had an empty 30gl tank so I went to Alamo aquatics for freshwater fish and my wife saw her first saltwater fish and wanted my to start one up. I wanted to learn anything about it so I searched on the internet and came upon this site. They had a meeting coming up at sea world where we became charter members and they first people I met were ace, greenmako and wife, and sheri. I've been out of the hobby for a while but possibly looking to get back in.

i am 99% sure that was my first meeting also. went to pick up my ro/di setup from a group buy

I found MAAST through the internet and lurked for a couple of years before I joined. I finally joined when I needed LR and skimmers for some new tanks I was setting up. Nobody knew me back then and I remember buying a skimmer from a MAAST member (I think it was Rob) and the lengthy explained I received on how skimmers work. It made me laugh because I already had several skimmers and didn't have the heart to tell him that I knew how to use them. I was so impressed with his knowledge and his willingness to share I decided to become more active in MAAST.
