    Default Brown alge

I have started my reef tank again been out for about 4 years but it's been three weeks since set up and running however I have gotten in the last few days a break out of this brownish or gold alge. Is it normal ? Is it bad ? Do I need to get rid of it ? What's causing this ? What can I do to subside this or rid it? Your help will be appreciated. Thanks

It is probably cyano, which is pretty normal after a cycle.

Welcome to new tank syndrome, if you are using old liverock, it maybe full of phosphates adding to your issues.

Do you have any pics of it? May be diatoms which is completely normal with a new tank.
