    Default Chloramines

Well after having issues with membranes not lasting I found that Chloramines has been the issue making it past my Chlora/Guard filters which are made for chloramines. I run a dual setup which I thought would last longer since one filter is to last 2,000 to 3,000 gallons. Checking yesterday before making more R/O water I found that I had 3 and 3 at the tap and before membrane I had the same. After I added a cartridge of ROX 0.8 Carbon it dropped to 1 and 1 on the test strips, and after my DI it drops to 0 and .5. In 6 months my membrane has gone from 1 to 2 to 5 to 7 TDS with an incoming TDS of 115. So in the near future I will be ordering 3 Chlora/Guard filters and a new membrane. On my DI I am still on the original two I started with, the second cartridge is over a year old that I ran with my old membrane from Spectrapure. After what I read while researching online I will start filtering my drinking water. Looking at my water companies quality report they claim the chloramines levels can go as high as 3.8. If what I read is true a swimming pool should be less than 3ppm.

Makes sense though. GAC pulls DOCs out so that's less work the DI has to do.
