LED Advise For 50 Gallon cube

I have been looking into LED's to go on my 50 gallon cube for the last few months. The choices are infinite and it becomes a little overwhelming. 1w vs 3w bulbs, different color combinations, programmable vs manual vs static, dimmable, lens angle, total watts, par vs pur, diodes, etc. My question is there any simple formula to find a optimal light for your tank needs or is a matter of personal preference? I have looked at Kessil, AI, Reef Breeders, Reef Radiance, etc. None of them have the same configuration in their lighting. It should not be this difficult to find a light for softies in a 50 gallon cube. I may just be over thinking this.

Any suggestions for lighting would be greatly appreciated, as long as they don't break the bank.
