breeding tank plumbing

I have 6 10 gallon tetra tanks that my clownfish pairs are in. I want to connect them all together and have a sump so i can beter controle water conditions. Any ideas would help. Thanks

Only way (that I know of) is to drill them and plumb in overflows. Keep in mind 10 gallon glass is really thin and therefore cracks very easily. If you do manage to get it drilled without cracking which is possible by going slow if you ever slightly bump the plumbing it will likely crack. Most people use twenty gallon tanks because they have thicker glass. Or use acrylic and make your own tanks.

There are hang on back overflows as an alternative to drilling, but they are pricey and add up quickly with that many tanks

Forgot about the hang on the back overflows. They would work to but take up a lot of room. Maybe get some of the acrylic guys on here to make you some smaller ones.

I had a whole bunch of 10 gallons that were drilled on the bottm. Very simple setup. Bulkhead, pvc pipe cut to length, and a single bio ball on top of the pipe to prevent any fish from going into. Didnt take a bunch of room, least expensive way I could think of and worked well. I had them on a 2x4 wooden stand side by side with a sump below. The return pipe from the pump had a tee at each tank and a ball valve to control water flow. Worked good for me.
