Question on fish only setup
will it be okay to use a black acrylic sheet instead of substrate? I plan on setting up a 25-60 gallon cube fish only tank. I am going to use some nice dry rock stacked up in the middle of the tank. I wanted to keep substrate out to keep the tank cleaner. What are your thoughts?

Yes, Id recommend that you silicone the edges down to make a seal so that detritus doesn't get sruck down underneath the sheet

Why not use a thin layer of black sand? I do not think if set up correctly it will become problem for you. Could even do a large watchman like a blue or pink spot that will move the sand around and keep the waste minimal.

It will limit what livestock you keep, for example some large wrasses are burrowers, like my dragon wrasse. Plus your substrate can develop beneficial bacteria and micro fauna.
