You're going to get different opinions from everyone you ask because there's more than one way to skin a cat. One other thing I like to do is go look and read up on Reef Central's (and other sites) TOTM. When I find thanks that I want to mimic, I see what they're doing and try to replicate it. A lot of times, I try something and it doesn't work for me. Other times, I try something and like the results.
