Elephant Slug
Day before yesterday I saw what I thought was a bad flatworm way back into the rocks where the light dont shine. This thing was a little bigger than a quarter. It moved away pretty quick. Last night I knew right where to look and I was determined to get that sucker. I found him! I tried sucking him out with a turkey baster, but in the process I killed it. Turned out it was an Elephant Slug, which I read was harmless to a reef tank. My starfish quickly moved in and devoured him...oh well. Picture isnt that great, but this was before its death. Its the black thing with the white keyhold shaped marking on its back towards the top.

Elephant Slug
yea they are actually snails not slugs, its a type of limpet. this is why it was hard to remove it as limpets hold on pretty well.

These snails are awesome and very interesting to watch. I have had a few with me for several years. Every few months they will show themselves and they grow fast! Can get very large.

I feel so bad now that I dont have it and accidently killed it. I tried to do the responsible thing to remove it, and ID it, and if safe put it back. At least my starfish got a good meal out of it.
