found this moving like a slug. not sure what it is but it has neon green "hairs" all over it. looks cool. not sure what it is though

Agreed. It's bad news. Do you have any wrasses in your tank? Also, is this from a recent acquisition and still in quarantine? You don't want these guys in your tank.

Exactly what it is. I got some new ZOOs recently and I got 2 of these guys from a coral dip...really bad news. I actually put the 2 in a vial, and the next morning one of them layed eggs. Be careful, some can change color to the zoos when it eats it to match. Use tweezers to remove them. NOT BY HAND. I read a horror story about someone getting it by hand and the toxin sent them to the hospital.

Yeah, it's a zoa eating nudi. Not good. You can get a wrasse, some will eat the nudi's, some won't. It's kind of hit or miss. The only "for sure" way to be rid of them is to put all of your zoas into qt, then dip the zoas every few days to kill the nudis. Since they lay eggs, you will have to qt and dip for quite a while to be sure they are all gone. In my experience nothing will kill the eggs, you just have to wait for them to hatch........then the dip will kill the actual nudis. Good luck.

When I had them, I did a 3:1 peroxide dip.

3 parts rodi and 1 part hydrogen peroxide. They'd let go within 15-20 seconds. I left the zoas in for about 60 seconds. It was extremely effective.

I then got a melanurus wrasse to make sure there are no reoccurring issues. I've been clean for months.

Oh, your zoas will stay closed for the rest of the day usually. Some of mine only stayed closed for a few hours though. Never lost 1 zoa polyp to this method.

I've had them on a colony of orange bambam's and they were bright orange when I found them. It's a shame they're such bad pests because they looked amazing.

Thank you all. I removed the one and am on the look out for more. I will be ordering some coral rx and start dipping. I was thinking of trying the method with bayer bug killer. Whats strange is my zoas never closed up. since this is my first tank ive made some mistakes like not QT'ing any corals. But that will change when we get to out new house as I just bought a 93 marineland cube RR. I must admit I would have never found this little guy if my 3 yr old wasn't playing around and completely made a mess of the tank. so I guess someone owes someone an apology.
