Thread: Aqueon Evolve 8G AIO Tank

  1. #1

Arrow Aqueon Evolve 8G AIO Tank

Really its about 5 to 6 gallons because of the real estate the rock and sand take up, also the back of the tank.

    Equipment:
Hydor Koralia 240 for circulation/ Will go to a MP10Wes after I break down my 55 gallon tank.
Planning to upgrade the return pump. Maybe a Cobalt MJ 400?

    Lighting:
    Boost PAR30 LED w/GooseNeck.
Might go with a Bright Aquatics dimmable Par 38 bulb. For coral acclimation and such.

    Rockscape:
I decided against doing a bonsai in this small tank and go with a tower look to it. I still need to drill holes in the rock for the frags/etc. I did build ledges though for those frags on rocks. Pukani dry rock btw. Was populated with my existing 55 gallon tank.

    Sand:
Hawaiian Black, still like this sand but I would go with a reef flakes of some sort.

    Filtration:
Polyfiber and planning to build a eggcrate media basket. Chemipure Elite and some Purigen.

    Salt:
    Instant Ocean.

    Stocking list:
    Fish:
    Shrimp and goby pairs.

    SPS:
I dont know if I will yet.

    LPS:
    Duncans
    Acans
    Elegance

    Softies:
    Assorted zoas
    Assorted tree corals
    Xenias

Nice setup, I have a Nuvo 8 i got off of another memeber and sweet thing is he built a rock wall to save space. I have a PAR 38 and weekly water changes and its holding up great, actually growing SPS!!!

Stocking it lightly so far. All params are good. Starting to see pods in this tank also.

I have found that it is very restrictive towards light. Its hard to place any coral also, will rescape once everything settles, I did move the RKL and the mp10wes over, everything looks great. I do wish I had a stronger bulb though.
