    Default Storing DI resin

Awesome, that's a great idea. I think I'm going to do that.

Yet another question for you! I'm planning on making some changes to my unit, one being running two DI, the other involves using solenoids to get more life out of the DI resin. My plan is to have a minimum of three solenoids hooked up. One from the main supply going into the unit and hooked up to my float switch, another connected to a T after the RO. My thought is, have a solenoid turn on to let water flow straight form the RO and into the waste water. The have the other solenoid turn off to keep that water at the RO membrane. Essentially, I want to just drain the first minute or so of water coming out of the RO, then have it go through the DI for my production water. Does this make sense and does it sound like a good idea?

One more thing I just thought of, I bought the maxr membrane about six months ago and in getting about a 96% rejection rate. Should it be higher than that? Would flushing it help?

The set with the solenoids could work.

Could you call in with some additional info on your MaxR?

Sounds good, Russ. I'm going to double check the TDS and my math tonight to make sure. What hours are best to call?

Oh yeah! I changed out my DI resin yesterday and noticed that some areas where brown and other areas were still purple/new looking. It almost looked like water was only flowing through part of it. I thought I went through it really fast. Could it be that it wasn't packed enough or packed too tight? I did the "tap it down" method and crammed it full. By full, I mean it compressed the sponge down a lot.

As long as the cation and anion beads didn't separate, it was tight enough. That pattern you saw seems pretty typical.

Awesome, I'll give you a call later in the week. Thanks again for the help! This is why I give you all my RO/DI business and I'm a huge BFS promoter! In fact, a friend that's getting into reef tanks just bought a unit from you last week because I told him you guys are top notch! I think you guys should offer customer service lessons as a side business. I know I'm ranting, I just love getting great customer service, it's rare these days.
