How do you go about moving a 280g acrylic tank. Take down 500mile move setup?![]()
Very carefully.
There's a lot to do depending in the setup. Need more info.

I was thinking of draining about 3/4 of the water strapping the tank and the stand to each other moving them as one. Draining the tank and and keeping the fish sand and rock alive is my main concern. Never moved a tank before.
the tank will need to be completely empty, it will be very heavy with just wet sand, plan on buying new sand or cleanin the old really well(kill it basically so its like new sand). fish will need to
be in big bags or in ice chest with air stones, keeping safe temps is key with fish and total darkness helps keep stress down. the rock and put in containers with wet news paper or wet towels to keep it moist. long trip so this will not be easy.

have a tank set up for the fish right when you get home... if you have a suv/van use that for the fish to travel(a/c) if you only have a truck do the move at night
