    Default fish question

So I currently have a pistol shrimp in my 90 gallon tank which I love. I want to buy a yashi goby to go with him but also wanted to buy another goby to help with the sand bed. Not sure if I want to get a orange or pink spoted goby. My question is, will they all be fine together? I know the yashi and shrimp will pair and the other gobies will pair with a shrimp as well. How does it work if one pairs with the shrimp and the other one tries also? Do they fight or do they share the shrimp?

One thing to note, the Yashi MIGHT pair with the shrimp. It's not guaranteed that they'll pair. I have a Randell's Goby and red striped shrimp that I bought as a pair that haven't paired and it's been a month and a half. I'm still holding out hope but I just wanted to mention it so you aren't disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I think having any fish that are related can be a problem but it just depends. Sometimes they're just fine, other times they try to kill each other. If they try to kill each other, you could try reaquascaping or move them to a holding tank for a few weeks and reintroduce them. It also depends on tank size. If they're in a big tank, the chances of fighting is less.

Just a side note, but sand sifting gobies do not "help" with the sand bed. They eat the micro fauna in the sand bed that eats waste. If you want "help" with the sand bed nasserius snails will help turn in the waste so it can be processed but only eat larger meatier food and there are also tiger-tail cucumbers that will turn the sand and eat detritus out of it but leave the micro fauna alone.

Otherwise, if your just wanting a cool looking little fish Ramsey's advice is right on...
