    Hmmm.... interesting thread idea.

Around 1979 as a kid I asked for an aquarium and had a 20g long in my room with angels, catfish, neon tetras, and black-skirt tetras. I kept that until I left for college 1989.

    1990-1993: 3g hex with goldfish

1994-2006: Mike bought me a 20g as a birthday present while we were dating. Mollies, swordtails, tetras, platys, loaches.

New Year's Resolution 2007 was to try saltwater, started 10g hex tank January 2007

Fall 2007: 100g saltwater, learned so much with this experience

1/3/08: 10g hex upgraded to 20g hex current tank

    3/15/08: 100g upgraded to 210g current tank

November 2009: Mike had to have a picasso trigger and I didn't want it in my reef, so he got his own 75g aggressive FOWLR

November 2011: 75g failed for the second time, upgraded it to the awesome Oceanic 140g brick FOWLR that is Mike's current tank

    210 g reef tank started 3/15/08; 20 g hex reef tank started 1/3/08, ended 3/30/14

80's-90's - Growing up in Hawaii we always had salt tanks but FO with bleached coral lol. I remember my father bleaching coral every few months lol. The fish we would get mainly from the Haliewa docks, one of my favorite past-times. Same method as going to the coast on the jetties, at night.

2000 - My girlfriend at the time (now my wife) had a little 10g guppy tank...their readiness to breed interested me and after experimenting with her tank with bala sharks goldfish and everything else over about 3 years I got into cichlids.

2003 - 2006 Started breeding peacock cichlids, sold a lot of fish on ebay and to TT : ) which eventually funded my conversion into the saltwater hobby. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and one room was dedicated to cichlids

Saltwater - 2006 to present in the following order:

    10g - softy tank
    40g - hex mixed reef
55g - mixed reef with Lionfish (my wife was the lookout when I would do tank maintenance, i hated predators)
    75g - mixed reef

    120g - mixed reef

    29g - aquapod zoa tank

75g - mixed reef frag tank

144g half circle - Miss this tank - mixed reef

    8g biocube - macro tank

    14g biocube - macro tank
    55g - softy tank

85g - full on decked out frag display tank which turned to display only

    220g - frag tank
    50g - frag tank
    40g - frag tank
    30g IM - anem tank

29g Biocube - complete custom system (my current display tank)

    40g breeder tank
40g 4 stall breeder system - frags and clownfish (current)
40g 4 stall breeder system - LPS and clownfish (current)
    5g - macro tank (current)
    30g - frag tank (current)
    30g - frag tank (current)
    7g - frag tank (current)
2 x 5 gallon buckets of rotifers (current)

One day I will have a place for my livestock to call home and I hope to have a greenhouse.

    lets see....

80's - 90's I had a 20gal with neon tetras, gourami's, and a red tail shark that wouldn't die. I don't know how many times that fish jumped out of the tank. We found it it flopping around and in the nick of time, threw it back in. Took a break from everything as I went off to college.

In 2006 I heard a co-worker had a saltwater tank and that got me curious. I did some research and and after seeing his 55 gallon I was hooked on saltwater. I happened to luck out and found a complete used 55gal on ebay from a local seller. The seller also told me about MAAST.

From 2008 to 2010 I upgraded to a 110 tall show tank. I loved this tank. I was just impressed with the 31" height it had. In late 2010 the center brace came loose and had to find another tank.

2010 to current I'm currently in a 90 gallon brick, no center brace. Late 2012 this tank developed a pin hole leak. It's now called the redneck tank since there are three bar clamps holding one side to prevent leakage.

2012 to present I've been on the hunt for a 180 to 240, no center brace, for a future build.
