Default I am not sure if my heater is working

I have a 200 Watt Aqueon heater. Have not noticed any kind of temp readings on the temperature gauge, the sticker type, and yes I know, Iwill be replacing the sticker themo with an actual thermometer. But there is no color on the temp gauge, all black. I have my heater on, and submersed, yet the red light dont come on either. Is there anyway I can check to see if the heater is operational?

Well what I done so far, is turned it all the way up, kept it in the water for the last 8 mins, and it is not warm at all, but I will try out of the water method to see if there is a warmth coming from it.

Ok just did that, and it does not seem to be producing any heat. I am currently broke and cant get another one till around the first of April. Only living thing in there is the hermit crabs, will they be ok? ANd can water be to cold for Live Rock?

Aqueon Heaters have a lifetime warranty, take it back to your favorite store.

Even if I bought it second hand from someone else? Did not know that, guess I better go get it out of the trash and into a bag.

Anyway, I manged to get some money coming to me that I was unaware of, so I used some of that money to buy a new heater, Top Fin. Heard they had a lifetime warranty, sadly looking at the instructions its only a 12 month warranty. I also bought a a better thermometer, dont like those sticker temp gauges.

    Take the heater back.

Search out & find an ebo jäger.

    It's $35, but it's worth it.
