    Default Blue hippo tang

So I noticed today that my blue hippo tang seems to have some ich spots. I haven't seem any of my fish with ich onthe past. I use to have a cleaner shrimp that would always be cleaning the hippo tang and fox face. It died about 2 or 3 weeks ago and now I see the ich. Could the cleaner shrimp have been helping that much? I'm going to be getting another one soon.

Yes... This has happened to me several times, most recently I lost a 9 year old Powerded Blue tang weeks after my last cleaner shrimp died. I think cleaners become a necessary symbiont once the fish becomes accustomed to constant cleaning.

Sorry about your loss Troy and I agree. Although cleaner shrimp typically do not clean Ich (arguementable), they do clean other parasites which could bring on stress, which would then bring on Ich. Hurry and get another cleaner shrimp and feed vitamin soaked foods. And good luck
