I'm not sure if they make a diy kit, but I know it's several times cheaper with devices such as ipads and ipods/phones to just buy a kit from china and do it yourself.

Is it the screen cracked? Or is it not responding?? Any thing happen you know that would have damaged it like say, dropping the imac?

I could do the phones, but not sure about an imac. I'm more of a PC guy.

While we're kind of on topic, tip for everyone: don't buy phones with flip/pull out keyboards, screens are way easier to replace on a phone without moving parts.

Hey thanks guys. Yeah i've seen a DIY type instructions video and woah. I'm good with DIY but jesus. You have to get past all the other components and go through the astroid belt and take a right at saturn, and it just seems real hard.

The LCD has stopped working. It light's up black but there is no color at all, and you can hear the computer running. The backlight comes on but no picture on the screen. I've already tried everything but replacing the screen.

Sounds like it could be a video issue. Normally if the screen fails it will be dim or the backlight won't turn on at all.

If there is an external video port on it, try hooking up a different monitor to it. I agree with the "rascal" above me, sounds like a bad video card.

Yeah i think that's my only option is to try that out. I might not automatically detect but i guess i'll be learning what it was like to work with MSDOS. CMD+A, CMD+P,CMD+D....it's going to be awesome.
