Thread: 35 Gallon acrylic tank, new

Default 35 Gallon acrylic tank, new

I hate to do it but I'm going to sell the acrylic thank that I just built. It measures 27 L x 18.5 W x 18 3/8 H. I made it too large for the counter space that I have and my wife would prefer I build something smaller. Back to the drawing board! As for the tank, I wanted it to be very strong so the sides are 1/2" thick, bottom is 3/8" and bracing is 2" x 3/8" thick all around. The lid is 3/8" and would fit flush with the bracing. I have not yet installed tabs to hold the lid or drilled a finger hole. Actual volume is 34.5 gallons, that is using the internal dimensions of 26 x 17.5 x 17 5/8. All of the edges were sanded prior to assembly and the exposed edges were treated with a torch to clear them up. There are some bubbles in some of the seams but it turned out very nice. I water tested it for a few hours but other than that it has never been filled. It has not been drilled. The materials cost me $370.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    $100

The negatives are the bottom was cut 1/16" too wide so there is a 1/16" ridge along the bottom back side but it would not be visible. There are some bubbles in some of the seams but it turned out very nice. I water tested it for a few hours but other than that it has never been filled. It has not been drilled. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like for me to e-mail you better pictures. The materials cost me $370. Asking $275.

    Thanks,
    Adam

$225 before I cut it apart and re-use the acrylic to build the next tank.

$175 for this tank. I think it's a steal at that.
